NFL Betting: Best NFC Regular Season Win Totals To Bet On

The countdown to the 2017 NFL season is underway. The dog days of summer will eventually give way to training camps, a preseason slate that is still much longer than it should be and then finally kickoff on Opening Night. We took the time to look closely at the NFC regular season win totals to find the best value in terms of betting futures right now. Here is a look at the best NFC regular season win totals to bet on.

Atlanta Falcons – 9.5 Wins – OVER

Will the Super Bowl hangover haunt the Falcons this season? We doubt it. Atlanta is absolutely loaded on both sides of the football. While they aren’t the defending Super Bowl champions, they might still have arguably the most complete team in the NFL. Kyle Shanahan is out as offensive coordinator but Steve Sarkisian will have a wealth of weapons to work with led by Matt Ryan, Devonta Freeman, Tevon Coleman and Julio Jones. Dan Quinn has completely overhauled the defense to the point where they have the potential to be a top-10 unit. With the exception of the Super Bowl meltdown, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about this team’s potential. 10 wins should be easily achievable. Nobody will be shocked if the Falcons reach 12 wins this season.

Green Bay Packers – 10 Wins – OVER

The Packers are coming off another disappointing playoff exit. However, there is reason for optimism moving forward. Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback on the planet and he could be in for one of the best seasons of his career after his celebrity breakup at the end of last season. Green Bay’s offense is healthy and will likely be deeper than it has been in years. The Packers should also benefit from a relatively decent schedule, including in their division where they should have the edge over the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears. Green Bay should be a lock to get to 10 wins and a strong bet to get over that mark with a healthy Rodgers under center.

New York Giants – 9 Wins – Over

Our third straight NFC pick for the OVER column is another strong value pick. The Giants posted 11 wins in 2016. They are definitely improved on paper heading in to 2017 so they should be able to hit the 10-win mark. Brandon Marshall will add another dynamic option to a talented offense. Meanwhile, the New York defense was a lot more consistent a year ago. Continuity should pay off with the Giants bringing back all of their core players for another run at an NFC East title.

Detroit Lions – 8 Wins – UNDER

There needed to be at least one team on this list that went UNDER the total. The Lions seem like a smart pick. The line for Detroit is set at eight wins, which would be one fewer win than they posted when they went 9-7 last season. However, the Lions are due for a small regression after their fourth quarter comebacks a year ago. Matt Stafford played at a very high level last year and the team barely finished above .500. Any regression towards the mean in an improved NFC North will likely mean Detroit dips back below the .500 mark in 2017.
