Golf Betting: The Best Bets To Win The TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola

There were four different golfers at last week’s BMW Championship that played their way into this week’s TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola but the focus for most bettors remained at the top with Jason Day pulling out another impressive win. Day posted his fifth win in 20 events this season so it should be no surprise that he is the outright favorite to win this week’s TOUR Championship although the betting odds might keep some handicappers away from putting their money on him. Here is a look at the best golf bets on the board for the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola.

The Favorite
Jason Day +325

Day moved in to the No. 1 spot in the World Golf Rankings after another absolutely dominant start at Conway Farms where he won by six shots. It’s absolutely incredible to see what Day has done with four wins in his last six starts alone and considering his history at East Lake includes a tied for sixth in 2011 and a tied for fourth last year it’s going to be hard for bettors to go against him even if they don’t like the +300 betting odds that makes it hard to make any money betting on him unless you are willing to risk a ton of money on the wager.

Next In Line
Rory McIlroy +650

There were plenty of question marks about McIlroy and whether his ankle would hold up heading in to last week’s start at the BMW Championship but after he tied for fourth it’s clear that the former world No. 1 is back. McIlroy tied for 2 in last year’s start at East Lake and considering his progress working his way back form the ankle injury it wouldn’t be a major surprise if McIlroy is the one that beats out Spieth at this event.

Jordan Spieth +805

It wasn’t that long ago that bettors were taking Spieth to win outright almost every single weekend and while his play has dropped off over the past couple of months he did tie for 13th at the BMW Championship last week. The pressure will be on Spieth to perform with Player of the Year honors potentially on the line and it will be interesting to see how he performs in his third trip to East Lake. Spieth did tie for second here in 2013 and it’s impossible to overlook him at +800 odds to win outright.

Henrik Stenson +1015

Stenson managed to finish in the top-10 in last week’s start at the BMW Championship but he is playing with an injured hand and that could continue to linger this week. Stenson won at East Lake in his only appearance here back in 2013 but there is an obvious risk to take him this week as he continues to deal with the injury.

Rickie Fowler +1050

Fowler leads the playoffs in one-putt percentage and he tied for fourth last week at Conway Farms so it’s important not to overlook him this week but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s worth putting money on him to win. Fowler placed eighth at this event last year and while we can bank on another top-10 finish it will be a lot tougher to win this event outright.

Sleeper Pick
Dustin Johnson +1550

It might not seem right to call Johnson a sleeper pick but the reality is that at this point in the season most golfers listed at anything more than +1500 odds probably should be considered in that category. Johnson posted a career-tying-low 62 in the second round of the BMW and tied for seventh and he has three top-10 finishes over his last four starts. Johnson finished in the top-10 in each of his last two trips to East Lake and it might be worth putting a small play on him to break through with the victory this week as what we are deeming a sleeper play considering how loaded the field is at the top.
