NASCAR Betting: The Best Futures Bets To Win The Sprint Cup Right Now

The extra week off before the final two weeks of the regular season would have added a little more drama to the playoff race if the field for this year’s Chase was already virtually set. However, the current standings might make it a little easier to predict an overall winner for this year’s Chase with Kevin Harvick still the obvious favorite in the midst of an absolutely dominant season. Here is a look at the best futures bets to win the Sprint Cup this season with the Chase now right around the corner.

The Favorite
Kevin Harvick +400

A closer look at Harvick’s stats reveal just how dominant he has been with a ridiculous 17 top-five finishes despite only managing to record a pair of wins so far. No other driver has more than 14 top-five finishes and only four drivers in total have hit the double-digit mark in that category. Harvick hasn’t won a race since March but he has somehow managed to register nine runner-up finishes since that last trip to Victory Lane and it’s hard to imagine anybody beating him out as long as he continues to consistently perform at such a high level.

Next In Line
Kyle Busch +400

When we talk about a driver performing at a ridiculously high enough level to challenge Harvick for the title it’s easy to remember Busch’s run of three straight wins in July. Busch battled his way back in to Chase contention with a remarkable run and while he has managed only two top-10 finishes in his four starts since we know that he has the potential to turn it up and potentially dominate when the Chase begins.

Joey Logano +550

Logano ranks second behind only Harvick in terms of his overall point total this season with 14 top-five finishes including three wins. Logano is the only non-Joe Gibbs Racing driver that has really stood out over the last few races and he has now finished first or second in four of his last six races. Harvick would need to falter, but in the unlikely scenario where he does then Logano would have a chance.

Matt Kenseth +700

Kenseth’s stock is clearly on the rise as he has finished in the top-seven in six of his last seven starts including a win at Michigan to pull even with Logano at three victories on the season. The Joe Gibbs Racing team has really raced with a sense of urgency of late and Kenseth has undoubtedly been the best of them with a dominant run to put himself in the conversation as a legitimate title contender.

Martin Truex Jr.  +800

Truex’s stock has cooled off a bit after finishing outside of the top-18 in three of his last four starts but he is still considered a fringe contender for the title. A lot would have to happen including Truex going on a dominant run in order to have a shot but it’s too early to completely write him off just yet.

Jimmie Johnson +800

Speaking of refusing to write a driver off just yet it’s Johnson who leads the Sprint Cup with four wins this season but he has only three top-10 finishes over his last six starts and hasn’t won since the May race at Dover. It’s impossible to overlook the former champ even despite his poor form of late but he will have a tough time turning things around as long as Harvick, Logano and Kenseth stay hot.

Sleeper Pick
Dale Earnhardt Jr. +1200

Earnhardt is one of four NASCAR drivers listed at +1200 odds to win the Sprint Cup along with Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin and Kurt Busch but we like Dale Jr. the best of that group as a sleeper pick to win it all this season. Earnhardt is one of only six drivers with multiple Sprint Cup wins this season and one of only four drivers that have posted a double-digit mark for top-five finishes so far so keep an eye out for the fan favorite as a possible sleeper pick to win the Sprint Cup this season.
