EPL Betting: Chelsea Aims To Get Back On Track This Weekend

The English Premier League returns this weekend from international break, and what was a wild beginning to the season should continue on Saturday with a trio of games. Chelsea heads to Everton to try and get their season on track, while the top two teams in the table meet as Manchester City heads to Crystal Palace. Finally, old rivals square off as Liverpool heads to Manchester United.

Chelsea at Everton – Saturday, 7:45 AM ET
EPL Odds: Chelsea -110, Everton +293, Draw +243

Chelsea fell 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace for their second straight loss in a row, and now they sit 13th in the table, and the champions are sluggish out of the gate, to say the least. Only last-place Sunderland have allowed more goals than Chelsea, which is not something you'd normally say about a Jose Mourinho-managed Blues squad. Everton is ninth after a 0-0 draw at Tottenham, and they're still going for their first win at home this season through two games. Also, this match will be interesting as Chelsea was chasing Everton defender John Stones all summer, and he handed in a transfer request that was refused.

Chelsea have won their last three meetings with Everton, and in this fixture last season, they doubled the Toffees 6-3 at Goodison Park.

Manchester City at Crystal Palace – Saturday, 10:00 AM ET
EPL Odds: Man City -669, West Ham +1443, Draw +642

City continued their perfect start to the season win at home over Watford, and they're now 4-for-4 in the win column along with ten goals scored, and none conceded with defenders Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala finally getting an understanding. However, Crystal Palace showed City they wouldn't roll over when they went to Chelsea and played as if they had nothing to lose. Even in their opening-season loss to Arsenal, Palace is showing some fight and getting some breaks going their way, and they've scored eight goals in their four games, which is second to City and ties them with Leicester City, who is right behind them in the table.

Palace snapped a seven-game skid against City with a 2-1 win in April, which should give them some confidence going into this showdown with the leaders.

Liverpool at Manchester United – Saturday, 12:30 PM ET
EPL Odds: Manchester United -110, Liverpool +296, Draw +242

Liverpool got trounced 3-0 at home to West Ham for the first time in over 51 years, and while they're just seventh in the table and it was their first loss of the season, they looked terrible at the back and didn't offer much going forward; now, Phillipe Coutinho will miss this match after a red card. United sits two spots ahead of Liverpool after a 2-1 loss at Swansea City, and they're in a similar position to Liverpool in that it was only their first loss of the campaign, they just haven't played that well all season, especially Wayne Rooney, who set the England scoring record on Tuesday.. A big win at home against their biggest and oldest rivals would be a step in the right direction, but the same goes for Liverpool.

United swept Liverpool last season and have won three of the last five, their second sweep in three years, but Liverpool did run out to a 3-0 run at Manchester United in 2014.
