La Liga Betting: The Bets Games To Bet On This Weekend

The fact that soccer fans were limited to Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid when it came to betting on La Liga futures this season certainly wasn’t a surprise but the fact that Villarreal is atop the table through seven games certainly has to be. Villarreal has won five of its first seven games with a draw to enjoy some time atop the table in Spain’s top division but they are coming off their first loss of the season and with the big three right behind them there is certainly plenty of time for things to change. Here is a look at the best bets on the board for the three most intriguing La Liga games this weekend.

Real Madrid vs. Levante
Saturday, 10:00 AM ET
La Liga Odds: Real Madrid -2892, Levante +2792, Draw +1384

Rafael Benitez has come under fire this week for his conservative tactics in last week’s 1-1 draw with Atletico but Real certainly had its fair share of opportunities to win that game and probably should have walked away with three points. Karim Benzema had put Real ahead early in that game but it was Luciano Vietto that pulled out the equalizer in the 83rd minute and helped steal an important point in the Madrid Derby. There is no way that Benitez will play a conservative game against a Levante side that has opened the season with just one win through its first seven games and with Real Madrid eager to put last week’s disappointment behind them with a statement win we could certainly see some spectacular goals in this one.

Barcelona vs. Rayo Vallecano
Saturday, 2:30 PM ET
La Liga Odds: Barcelona -803, Rayo Vallecano +1571, Draw +731

With Lionel Messi working hard to rehab his injured knee and get back to the Barcelona lineup sooner than projected it has been left to Luis Suarez and Neymar to lead an attack that is still among the most talented in all of soccer. However, that certainly didn’t seem like the case in Barcelona’s last game, as they stumbled in a 2-1 loss to Sevilla in which they really struggled to find the back of the net. Barcelona did hit three posts in the loss and with a little more luck they would have at least pulled out a draw. There is a very good chance their luck improves in a home date with a Rayo Vellacano side that will be overmatched at both ends of the pitch so look for Barcelona to bounce back with a big win in which Neymar and Suarez prove they will be just fine without Messi for at least the next couple of weeks.

Villarreal vs. Celta Vigo
Sunday, 6:00 AM ET
La Liga Odds: Villarreal -110, Celta Vigo +280, Draw +255

The early start time might keep soccer fans from North America from getting up early for it but there will certainly be plenty of fireworks when these two surprise contenders meet on Sunday. Villarreal is holding down top spot in the table right now but Celta Vigo actually owns the better goal differential despite a missed opportunity last week in a scoreless draw with Getafe. That final score line against Getafe didn’t come close to telling the story of how that game played out as Celta had plenty of opportunities and hit the post three times. Meanwhile, Villarreal is coming off a stunning first loss to the season and will be eager to bounce back with at least a point in this contest.
