Champions League Final
Juventus vs. Barcelona
Saturday June 6, 2015 – 2:45 PM ET
Olympiastadion, Berlin, Germany

It really isn’t any surprise that Barcelona is the substantial favorite for this clash with some books having them listed at nearly -300 to win. Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez have combined to form the most lethal attack in all of Europe and they will be looking to put on a show when they are given the opportunity in Berlin. Barcelona is capable of scoring goals in bunches and it is their possession game up front that makes them such a dangerous team because the more the ball is at the offensive end of the pitch the less they have to be worry about defending. However, they will have to be careful not to push the issue too hard and forget about defending a Juventus attack that capitalized on its opportunities in an impressive manner versus Real Madrid in the semi-final. Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata capitalized when they got their chances in each leg of their semi-final and with the world predicting that Barcelona will have their number in this one they should have more than enough motivation. The first goal will be key in this clash, especially if Juventus gets it and can transition their focus to the defensive end where they are among the best teams in the world at shutting down opponents. Gianluigi Buffon might not play that much longer but he still deserves to be considered one of the game’s elite goaltenders and as long as he is in net the top side from Serie A will feel confident about its chances versus any opponent. That said, Barcelona’s ability to attack in waves will ultimately be too much for Juventus to withstand and once they finally break through it will be very difficult for the Italian side to battle back.

Pick: Barcelona

Over/Under – 2.5

There is a good chance that Juventus will get at least one goal in this game and that helps narrow whether this game will go over or stay under down to whether or not Barcelona will score enough goals to win. The fact that a 1-1 draw would mean two overtime periods before penalty kicks will provide even more opportunities for this game to go over the total if this game goes that far. If they don’t go to extra time then there is a good chance that it’s because Barcelona scores two or more goals in regulation so the best bet on the board appears to be the over followed by the Barcelona win.

Pick: Over 2.5
